New Design
A large proportion of work carried out by ourselves relates to either
making replicas or to making to new architect designs.
We offer a complete project management service involving design,
manufacture and installation – and we are happy to work in
any part of the United Kingdom.
Designs can be made manually or using Autocad computer aided design
software.
Projects sizes can be small or large. We are capable of handling
projects typically to the value of £250k.
We are experienced in the design and manufacture using the following
materials:
| 1. |
Cast iron. |
| 2. |
Cast bronze and gunmetal. |
| 3. |
Wrought iron. |
| 4. |
Stainless steel. |
| 5. |
Mild steel – galvanised, plasma sprayed
and painted. |

Finishing of the manufactured metalwork is very important in order
to prolong the future life of the product. We do not recommend carrying
out any finishing work on site unless absolutely necessary and,
if so, this should be carried out in a controlled environment.
Modern finishing systems offer superb operating performance such
as retention of gloss, longevity and corrosion resistance. However,
this performance is only achieved if the systems are applied in
stringent workshop conditions. For this reason, we subcontract all
our finishing work to specialist coating companies. The finishing
systems are not cheap – but there performance is unquestionable.
For mild steel/wrought iron work we would recommend shotblasting
to SA2.5 immediately followed by application of an etching 2 pack
zinc phosphate primer, an intermediate coat using MiO 2 pack paint
followed by application of a high build two pack polyurethane paint.
Total dry film thickness (dft) should be 200 micron minimum.
