historic and heritage architectural metalwork since 1995
Established in 1995, Acorn Restoration specializes in the restoration, renovation and replication of heritage and historic architectural metalwork. We are currently engaged with a number of high profile projects, having been retained by a select group of clients which includes Ian Ritchie Architects, Geoffrey Osborne Ltd., Hanover Cube, The Mercer Corporation of The City of London, City & Country and Knight Harwood.
What sets us apart from other metalwork restorers is our ability to manage every aspect of a project, from a consultative role at the Architect’s pre-contract design stage to the final installation and commissioning of completed works under the guidance of the main contractor.
"Ian Ritchie Architects are currently designing, with technical guidance from Acorn Restorations, a series of sliding and folding cast aluminium shutters for the Mercers’ Yard mixed use development in this conservation area within Covent Garden, London. The shutters will help give privacy to residential flats, and are a key architectural feature."From the outset, Acorn’s expertise has been fundamental in material selection, establishing assembly and finishes tests and in fine tuning the design. Their understanding and appreciation of the design intent as well as their proven engineering background has given us the confidence to proceed to fabrication of these quite complex elements."
"I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Acorn. Their enthusiasm and passion, together with their excellent specialist knowledge and skill base has really helped us solve difficult technical problems and arrive at an outstanding solution for our bespoke architectural metalwork requirements."
